The infographic I found is entitled “The Psychology of Color”. Immediately this stood out from all the other infographics I found because of the colors and splattered paint by the title. Everything is bright and vibrant, and the information is not hard to understand or comprehend. There is not much repetition or even constrast, but the overall infographic is visually appealing. The information being presented is interesting because of the format in which is displayed. The colors of the house are actually divided in different rooms. Then further down, all the individual colors have different symbols, for example, the purple represented royalty, so it had a crown. I also like the section on advertising, I thought the use of brand logos was awesome, organizing them based on colors was creative. Overall, the infographic sends a great message about the meaning of colors.

This infographic illustrates the various types of espresso shots and it even shows pronunciation guides.  It definitely shows a repetition of the coffee mugs and each cup always has one shot of espresso.  Alignment in this infographic was very simple because not much had to be done since each cup is the same size and shape.  There are three rows of three cups in each row. The contrast is in this infographic is done well by keeping the same colors of the same ingredients the same.  The only thing about this infograph is that is did not use proximity at all.  All the coffee mugs are next to each other at the same spacing.

The infographic that I chose is a rundown of the problem with chemicals in cosmetic products. It uses a good color swatch of light and easy colors, making it easy to read and fun looking. The fonts that they used to create this infographic are fun but carry a lot of weight, which help to drive home the point that they are trying to make which is “chemicals are not being tested in cosmetics”. It uses repetition in its separation of different sub-facts, which breaks up the page nicely and allows the eye to follow the page to the bottom. As for alignment, there is a lot of “X” lines going through the page, which give the graphic a balance. What I mean is that there will be two images on both the left and the right, then the next line down will have an image in the center and the line after that will mirror the top line.

I used an infographic that focuses on the unemployed college student; something I know too much about. Kids on campus are always looking for a quick way to make a buck so this offers multiple ways they could do so. I’ve actually done a couple of these last year as a freshman (street performance and selling previous books/items) while also contemplating some of the more serious options such as selling my body (to science, that is). A few of the recommendations actually make a lot of sense like tutoring other undergrads or creating an eBay account. Some of them though, I have to say, are a tad unrealistic. Writing an eBook, though potentially gaining thousands of dollars, is unable to do in the midst of an academic semester. When it comes down to it, college students will do anything for a quick buck.

I thought this was a cool infographic that shows the ingredients to make different types of espresso. It’s interesting to look at because the different cups of coffee catch your eye, and make you want to learn more about them. Once you take a good look at the picture, it’s easy to understand what the creator is trying to convey because the words speak for themselves. The use of many coffee cups is positive repetition because it allows the viewer to see that though all of the cups are the same, they each have different ingredients inside them. Using the same image also allows for each of the coffee cups to be perfectly aligned. The contrast of the different colors to illustrate the various ingredients in the cups was also a good technique that made the infographic easier to understand.

The this infographic shows the number of people using certain mobile networking applications like facebook, myspace, and twitter.  Each individual social networking medium is represented as a colored blob, and they are sized according to how many users they have.  Each social medium is literally revolving around the blob in the middle, which is labeled “cell phones.”  The infographic does a good job of literally showing how social networking revolves around mobile phones and just how many people use them.  The sizing of each blob by how many users they have makes it easy to see which networking tools are the biggest in comparison to others.  Each of the blobs being a different color makes it easier to tell them apart, as well as making the infographic itself pop.

This infographic explains why people use Twitter and why it has become so popular over the past few years. This infographic is affective because it uses the Twitter logo to represent certain percents, instead of just putting the percentages in sentence form and forming another boring article about Twitter. The logo’s and percentages represent repetition.
